If there is any mat that is my “Go To” mat it is the Liforme mat. Liforme mats provide good grip without feeling like your standing on an automobile tire. They have a nice cushion to them, but not so much that you feel wobbly. They are large enough that my 6’4″ husband easily fits on the mat.
Perhaps the best feature are the alignment lines that are on the mat. These lines are great for beginners and advanced yogi’s alike. The center line helps you align your feet along the length of the yoga mat, while the diamond pattern around the center helps you align your feet for poses such as warrior where your backfoot is at an angle. The thin lines at the end of the mat help you align your hands and feet for poses like plank.
